The late summer is a beautiful time to get married in the Rockies - the Larches have turned golden yellow, the first snowfall of the season emphasizes the lines on the mountains and the air is crisp and clean. Combined with the late afternoon light of this West facing location, we had the perfect light for capturing a beautiful elopement. J & J chose us to be their Kananaskis hiking elopement photographers because of our ability to capture the beauty of the surroundings while documenting their special day faithfully.
Along with Cole of Married by Cole (officiant), we hiked up to the lake in no time and found a secluded location for the ceremony. Cole officiated a beautiful and heartwarming ceremony that had both J & J tearing up. After the ceremony concluded, we began to explore the area, finding interesting rock formations to take creative couples photos on. As the sun dipped closer to the horizon the contours of the cliffs began to pop, making for some dramatic sunset photos.
