Bow Lake, at least to us, is the more peaceful version of Lake Louise. You still get the glaciers, mountains and turquoise lake in the background, and that all comes with a big dose of tranquility and peacefulness. We're thrilled that P & P chose us to be their Lake Louise wedding photographers because we love working in the area! The area between Lake Louise and Bow Lake is arguably the most scenic part of the Rockies as you drive the Icefields Parkway.
Getting Ready at the Post Hotel
We met J & J at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise to photograph the finishing touches of them getting ready. Mom and dad were there to pin the boutonniere and make sure the bow tie was on straight. After the wedding dress was zipped up, we set J & J up for a private first look outside.
An Intimate Ceremony at Bow Lake
The ceremony was held on a small rustic wooden bridge overlooking Bow Lake and the Wapta Icefield in the distance. This unconventional location allowed us to take some creative photos that we don't normally have a chance to take. After the ceremony, we walked around the lake to take couples photos. J & J had prepared an amazing homemade wedding cake that we still think about to this day!
Canoe Wedding Photos at Lake Louise
After leaving Bow Lake we drove to the Lake Louise Ski Resort to ride the chairlift and get some photos with the majestic mountains of the Lake Louise group. The sprinkle of rain didn't stop us from getting some beautiful photos! To finish off the day, J & J rented a canoe and paddled out on the scenic Lake Louise as we snapped photos highlighting the beauty of the surroundings as well as the love our couple shared for each other.
